Devils Head is a popular trip. Right after the holidays so the slopes are not crowded. It's an easy 2-3 hour drive depending on where you live, lodging is right on the slope, food is good, Saturday's dinner is always a feast followed by good socializing. The best is, everything is included! Taxes, tips, food, lifts, lodging. Probably the best bang you can get for your dollar.
This trip was with Snowseekers Ski Club. This trip is a great value because the trip is just after New Years Day holiday when slopes are not crowded. The Devil's Head Mountain Lodge is located at the bottom of the slopes with a short walk to the chairs.
This trip with the SnowSeekers Ski Club provides a stress free weekend trip. Just show up at the front desk when you arrive and the staff will give you an envelope with lift tickets, meal tickets and room key. The buffet lunches are held in a private room for our combined group so you do not have to hunt for a place to sit in the crowded cafeteria. With 300 acres of slopes, you won't get bored. Click here for more info about Devilshead Resort.
Recap 2014: Snowseekers Ski Club has been taking this trip for over 25 years. This trip is a great value. They had fresh snow that fell just a couple of days before. Temps were in the teens. Because the trip was just after New Years Day, the slopes were not crowded. Thank you Jeannie for chairing the trip.Barb, Dave

This is probably the best weekend price you can get anywhere. And probably the best value for your dollar. Ski Brule is also hosting the CMSC races this weekend so there will be plenty of activities. With 500 vertical feet of slopes, you won't get bored. Click here for more info about Ski Bule.
Slalom Race this afternoon, Powder Dogs Joe and Amanda Keen and Dave Clark walked away with medals in the Men A and Women B and Men B categories, and Lynn Creegan received special recognition as a First Time Racer -- she completed both first and second slalom runs successfully, and beat several more experienced CMSC racers. A most commendable debut, Lynn.

15 people went on the trip. It was cold but not near as cold as the year before with 20 below wind chills. For a holiday weekend, there were hardly any lines. Maybe the cold kept some people away.
Comment by Lynn on the trip; Fantastic time at Granite Peak! Some of our tougher Powder Dogs skied Saturday with the wind chill making it super cold. BRRRRR! Carol and Kathy went cross-country skiing Sunday. Hampton Inn was very nice. Everything close. Great job Carol organizing this fun trip!!

The trip started off great. Van Galder Bus supplied us with a bus designed for a professional hockey team at no extra charge. The bus ride was very comfortable with TV's, movies, leather reclining seats, plenty of leg room, bathroom, and a kitchen. Saturday had 4" of fresh snow and had great conditions. Then came the cold front on Saturday night. Sunday morning was well below zero and very windy so the Dogs decided to head home early. As the bus pulled around, it got clipped by another bus in the parking lot which delayed things a little. Then, about an hour away from getting home, a warning light came on saying the brakes was loosing pressure which was caused by the accident The bus pulled over and another bus was called in to get the group back home. Still, everyone said they had a good time and the price was worth the trip.

These Powder Dogs took a charter bus to Chestnut Mountain in 2009! This was the very first Powder Dog ski trip. The bus was arranged by Alpine Accessories and left from the shop parking lot. The bus left at 7am in the morning and returned about 8pm in the evening.
